1. Don't click "Reactivate now" yet
Seller Central puts an appeal button in front of you the moment you're deactivated. It feels urgent, and it is, but a rushed appeal is the most common reason sellers stay suspended. Every rejected appeal is on record, and the next reviewer reads it. Take the time to understand the problem before you submit anything.
2. Save everything Amazon sent you
- Screenshot the Account Health page and every alert in Performance Notifications, with dates.
- Copy the exact wording of the deactivation notice. The specific policy and ASINs it names tell you what the appeal has to answer.
- Note whether the notice mentions a specific policy (inauthentic, IP, related accounts, verification) or just a general review. That changes the whole approach.
3. Read what Amazon is actually asking for
Most notices ask for one of three things: a Plan of Action explaining the root cause and the fix, documents such as invoices or ID, or both. Write down each item it asks for. An appeal that answers a different question than the one Amazon asked gets rejected, even if everything in it is true.
4. Check your other accounts and listings
If you have, or have ever had access to, another seller account, it may be linked. A suspension on one account can affect the others. Also check which listings are still active: inventory that's the subject of a complaint usually needs a decision (remove, keep, or fix) that matches what your appeal says.
5. Gather documents before you write
- Supplier invoices for the ASINs named in the notice
- Your business registration and ID, if verification is involved
- Any letters of authorization from brands
- Order and shipping records for the complaints Amazon mentions
If something is missing, ask your supplier now. Real documents take days to get. Never edit an existing document to fill a gap; altered paperwork can turn a fixable suspension into a permanent one.
6. Don't open a new account
Opening a second account to keep selling is treated as circumventing the suspension. It usually gets the new account closed and makes the original much harder to recover.
