“Your seller-fulfilled offers have been deactivated”

Amazon pulled your merchant-fulfilled (FBM) listings, but your FBA listings may still be live. This notice is almost always about shipping metrics, and it's usually fixable if you answer it the right way.

What the notice means

Amazon has stopped showing the offers you ship yourself. Your account isn't necessarily deactivated: FBA offers often stay live, and you can usually still log in to Seller Central. Amazon is saying your own shipping isn't meeting its standards, and it wants a plan before it trusts you with those orders again.

Treat it seriously anyway. If the same metrics keep slipping, or the appeal is weak, a listing-level action can turn into a full account deactivation.

The metrics that usually cause it

Open Performance > Account Health and look at the shipping section. One of these is usually out of range. Amazon's published targets are:

  • Late shipment rate: under 4%. Orders confirmed as shipped after the expected ship date.
  • Pre-fulfillment cancel rate: under 2.5%. Orders you cancelled before shipping, often because of stock problems.
  • Valid tracking rate: above 95%. Shipments with a tracking number the carrier actually scans.
  • On-time delivery rate: Amazon tracks this too, and missed delivery promises add to the problem.
  • Order defect rate: under 1%. Negative feedback, A-to-z claims and chargebacks, which often rise when shipping slips.

Targets and windows can change, so check the numbers Amazon shows for your account rather than relying on a list.

Find the real cause

"We had shipping delays" won't get offers back. Download the order report for the period Amazon measured and look for the pattern behind the bad orders:

  • Handling time set shorter than your team can really manage
  • Inventory not synced, so you sold items you didn't have
  • Tracking uploaded late, mistyped, or from a carrier Amazon doesn't recognise
  • A warehouse, 3PL or carrier problem during a sales spike
  • Orders confirmed as shipped before they were handed to the carrier

Name the specific cause, the number of orders it affected, and the dates. That's what Amazon's reviewers look for first.

What the appeal should include

  1. Root cause: the specific reason the metric slipped, backed by your order data.
  2. What you've already fixed: for example, longer handling time, refunds issued, inventory feed repaired, tracking corrected.
  3. What stops it happening again: process changes with owners and checks, such as daily tracking audits, buy-shipping labels, stock buffers, or a backup carrier.

Keep it short and organised. A long apology doesn't help, and blaming the carrier on its own usually gets rejected. See why appeals get rejected.

While you wait

  • Ship every open order on time and upload valid tracking the same day.
  • Use Amazon's Buy Shipping where you can, since its tracking is validated automatically.
  • Lengthen handling time in your shipping settings before offers come back, so you can meet the promise.
  • Answer buyer messages within 24 hours. New claims make the case harder.

Questions sellers ask

Is my whole account deactivated?

Not necessarily. This notice targets the offers you fulfil yourself. FBA offers often stay active, but repeated problems or a weak appeal can lead to a full account deactivation.

Can I just switch everything to FBA?

Moving products to FBA can help going forward, but it doesn't answer Amazon's notice. If you want your merchant-fulfilled offers back, you still need an appeal that explains and fixes the shipping problem.

How long does it take to get offers back?

Amazon often replies within a few days of a complete appeal. Incomplete appeals usually get a request for more information, which adds time.

Does blaming the carrier work?

Rarely on its own. Amazon holds the seller responsible for the delivery promise. If a carrier was part of the problem, show what you changed, such as switching carriers or using Buy Shipping.
