No. Walmart's email states the reason and whether you're eligible to appeal. Suspensions and suppressions are usually appealable; terminations generally aren't. Read the notice before writing anything.
What did Walmart actually do?
Walmart uses different actions, and the appeal route depends on which one you got:
- Seller fulfillment deactivated (suppression): your seller-fulfilled listings are hidden. A warning appears on the Performance page.
- Account suspension: your selling privileges are paused until Walmart accepts an appeal.
- Termination: the account is closed. These generally can't be appealed.
Walmart sends the notice to the contact in your Partner Profile. If you can't find it, check spam folders and confirm that contact is still correct in Seller Center.
Which standards usually cause it?
Walmart measures seller-fulfilled orders against its Seller Performance Standards over the last 30 or 60 days. Check the current targets on your Performance dashboard, since Walmart updates them. The main ones are:
- Cancellation rate: 2% or less of orders cancelled by you.
- On-time delivery: orders delivered by the expected delivery date. Walmart judges delivery, not just shipping.
- Valid tracking rate: 99% or higher. Stamps and prepaid envelopes don't produce valid tracking.
- Refund rate, seller response rate, negative feedback, return rate and item not received rate.
Orders not marked shipped with valid tracking within four days of the expected ship date are cancelled automatically, and those count against you. Suspensions can also come from policy issues such as IP complaints, prohibited items or multiple accounts.
What should the Business Plan of Action include?
- Root cause: the specific reason the metric or policy problem happened, backed by your order data.
- Corrective actions: what you've already fixed, such as cancelled orders handled, tracking corrected, buyers refunded or listings removed.
- Preventive measures: process changes with owners and checks, such as longer lag time, a different carrier, inventory sync fixes or daily tracking audits.
- Commitment: a clear statement that you understand and will meet the Seller Performance Standards and Walmart's policies.
Keep it short and numbered, with evidence attached. Walmart reviewers want to see that you understand what went wrong, not a long apology.
What should you do while you wait?
- Ship any remaining orders on time with valid tracking uploaded the same day.
- Set a lag time and shipping speed your team can actually meet.
- Answer buyer messages within 48 hours.
- Don't open a new account. Walmart's multiple accounts policy can turn a suspension into a termination.
How is this different from an Amazon appeal?
The structure is similar: root cause, fixes, prevention. The differences are in the details. Walmart measures delivery dates where Amazon mostly measures ship dates, its tracking target is stricter, and appeals usually go through a support case rather than an Account Health form. A copy of an Amazon Plan of Action rarely works on Walmart without changes.
