To reinstate an ASIN, find the exact policy behind the removal in Account Health, fix the listing or product issue, gather documents that prove it (invoices, test reports, authorization letters), and submit an appeal for that specific ASIN. Generic appeals rarely work.
Why do ASINs get removed?
Amazon removes individual ASINs for many reasons. The most common are:
- Authenticity or condition complaints from customers, such as "inauthentic" or "used sold as new."
- Intellectual property complaints from a rights owner over a trademark, copyright or patent.
- Restricted or unsafe products, or products missing the safety or compliance documents Amazon requires.
- Listing policy problems, such as prohibited claims or incorrect product details.
The reason is listed in Account Health next to the affected ASIN. Everything else depends on getting that reason right.
How do you get an ASIN reinstated?
- Read the exact violation. Note the policy, the date, and any order IDs or complaint details Amazon shows.
- Find the cause. Check the customer complaints in Voice of the Customer, your supplier and invoices, and the listing content.
- Fix it first. Correct the listing, remove bad inventory, or get the missing documents before you appeal.
- Gather proof. Supplier invoices, letters of authorization, lab test reports or certificates, depending on the violation.
- Write a short appeal that covers the root cause, what you have fixed, and how you will prevent it. Our plan of action template shows the structure.
- Submit through Account Health using the appeal option next to that ASIN, and keep an eye on your case log for follow-up requests.
What documents does Amazon usually want?
- Invoices from your supplier showing their full details, your details, the product and quantities that match your sales.
- A letter of authorization from the brand, if you resell a brand you don't own.
- Test reports or certificates for safety and compliance removals.
- For IP complaints, either a retraction from the rights owner or evidence that your listing does not infringe.
Should you just delete the listing and relist it?
No. Relisting a removed product without fixing the problem can look like an attempt to get around Amazon's enforcement. That can turn a single ASIN problem into an account suspension. Fix and appeal instead.
Can every ASIN be reinstated?
Not always. Some removals, such as product recalls, can't be appealed. In other cases, selling the product may simply require approvals or documents you can't get. It is better to know that early than to keep submitting appeals.
